Ian Livingston

Founder/ Director

Born in Glasgow in 1967 and brought up in the suburbs of south Manchester, Ian's interest in design has always oscillated between objects and environments.

An early fascination with the architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his ability to design all things from the house to the furniture, right down to the knife and fork, led to an education in exhibition, display and interior design. This was followed by an architectural degree and diploma courses in Oxford, Barcelona and London, with a final diploma year studying under the architect [and dreamer] David Green, of 1960's conceptual design group 'Archigram'.

Project experience gained in the offices of Terry Farrell and Partners and Sheppard Robson Architects along with spells in more boutique London based design firms have helped Ian develop a solid technical background and an organizational methodology that compliments the creative aspects of Studiofibre's design-led philosophy.
